I surprised myself when I thought back to the scenes and realized that they arenвЂ™t even a major gripe I have with the show. I found no value in them, and when they were over, I found myself without really a solid opinion on them. Almost like observing grass swaying in the wind, watching those scenes was akin to staring at the hands on a clock, waiting for just one more minute to pass.

I know thatвЂ™s essentially what all video is, but give me a second to elaborate. When I watched them I felt like I was seeing pictures moving.

It wouldnвЂ™t have been realistic of me to expect Masou Gakuen to not have such scenes, but I wasnвЂ™t quite prepared for what kind of an odd experience they would give me. Many of these scenes involve the typical harem anime interactions between the protagonist and the heroines. TheyвЂ™re so unremarkable that they are remarkable. There were some scenes that utterly outshone others in dullness. DonвЂ™t get me wrong though, almost everything in the show that isnвЂ™t comedy was as dull to me as watching paint dry, and unfortunately, thatвЂ™s what comprises most of the anime. Perhaps I was so entertained because my expectations had been terribly low, but I was considering watching the entire anime get more of its comedy. The anime was vastly more enjoyable than IвЂ™d expected. There was even one point when I doubled over with laughter because of an unexpected turn of events in a scene that still gets me chuckling just thinking about it. Had I been overly critical, I wouldnвЂ™t have enjoyed the little bits of humor here and there that the animeвЂ™s first two episodes have to offer. In the meanwhile, I told myself I would try to be as positive as possible about the anime without lying to myself. So when I noticed that most of the events were setting up for similar scenes, the only reaction I had was thinking that at least at the end of the third episode I could stop watching. The ecchi scene didnвЂ™t really affect my expectations вЂ“ they were already too low for that. I suppose itвЂ™s at least a good way to make sure people quickly understand exactly what kind of anime it is. By that I mean that thereвЂ™s basically a sex scene in the first few minutes that would make this a hentai anime if not for the mysterious white fog and inexplicable black mist that occasionally appear to make sure at least some viewers under 18 can legally watch it. I havenвЂ™t seen many ecchi anime (and donвЂ™t really plan on changing that), but of those I have, none go quite as far as Masou Gakuen. And something along the line of вЂњThe animu boobs are bigвЂќ wasnвЂ™t going to cut it either. There was no doubt about it вЂ“ I was going to have a hell of a time trying to write something positive about it. IвЂ™d heard of it before, and when I reread the synopsis, my heart sank with dread. The only one I could find was Masou Gakuen HxH. So I decided to pick up a random harem anime this season and make post about it just to prove myself I can do better. But IвЂ™m also not a fan of how scathing they are, as well as the low quality of the writing itself. My harem anime first impressions always get more views than my other posts.
